Healthcare reform continues to be the center of focus in our nation and in Massachusetts. Given the coverage-induced pressure to reduce costs, reform is more than talk in the Commonwealth. Is your organization ready? Regardless of the actual payment methodologies adopted, providers will be more at risk, forcing new strategies to manage and improve using these new and riskier payment systems. Some organizations are taking the lead and point to ideas for other organizations to consider.
At this year’s Mid-Winter Leadership Forum, we’re bringing you three examples of healthcare systems adapting. We’ll hear from Dr. Edward Murphy, CEO of Carilion Clinic, (Roanoke, VA), an already-integrated delivery system that has set up a model of the future for greater physician alignment. We’ll also hear from Dr. Timothy Ferris of Partners HealthCare regarding their Medicare demonstration project, dedicated to health IT integration for clinical excellence and cost savings replicable in other organizations. Finally we’ll hear from leaders at Southcoast Health System, which achieved cost savings of $7 million in a matter of months through adopting lean healthcare techniques. Come to this year’s Mid-Winter Forum to learn and join in the discussion so that your hospital can make the necessary shifts to find financial viability while providing greater value in this time of rapid change.
