Massachusetts Hospital Association (MHA)'s positions on what’s
necessary for successful healthcare payment reform in the state are
resonating with public opinion leaders and also getting national
attention.
Yesterday the Boston Globe ran this editorial calling on the legislature to
hold off on specific government intervention in this latest round of
payment reform proposals; the Boston Herald ran
this opinion piece on
April 6, 2012, saying that legislated rate-setting or price regulation
of healthcare costs at this point in time would amount to bureaucratic
over-reach.
Also, Kaiser Health News asked Gov. Deval
Patrick, Massachusetts Hospital Association President & CEO Lynn
Nicholas, Massachusetts' Health Care For All's Paul Williams and
Massachusetts Medical Society's Lynda Young about their views on what
Massachusetts healthcare reform has accomplished so far and how the
state might tackle this next wave of policy challenges. See Different Takes: How Massachusetts
Can Control Health Care Costs to read more.
