Program Overview

Join us at MHA’s annual program to review the final IPPS inpatient rule- we’ll cover all of the critical changes and updates important to hospitals. Specifically, we’ll expect to cover:  Alternatives to the Two-Midnight Rule, Medicare legislative/regulatory issues, DSH calculations, value-based incentives, and new adjustment factors for hospital-acquired conditions. Regarding the Two-Midnight Rule, CMS has called for public comments to find another payment system for Medicare short inpatient stays and has requested providers to define short inpatient stays and suitable payments for them. We’ll provide an update on this critical issue.

Program Objectives:

• How to analyze the fiscal year 2018 Inpatient PPS Final rule so you can evaluate the impact of the proposed changes on your hospital

• Inflation and program financial updates

• MS-DRG grouping, significant ICD-10 changes and impact of significant declassification of 800 codes from OR to non-OR

• Changes to DSH payment calculations, value-based incentives and adjustments factors for hospital-acquired conditions and hospital readmission reduction program

• How to examine other Medicare legislative and regulatory issues applicable to acute care hospitals
