2010 Joint Commission Update: Ensuring Survey Readiness for Your Hospital

Each year hospitals need to be aware of the most important compliance issues regarding the Joint Commission. At this years’ conference we will provide an update from Mark Crafton, executive director for external affairs at the Joint Commission. Mr. Crafton will provide the most current information on the National Patient Safety Goals, Standards Improvement Initiative, Standards/Elements of Performance, Unannounced Surveys, Performance Measurement, Strategic Surveillance System, and Surveyor Training Tools. He will also take a special look at newly revised other key regulations. While no new NPSGs have been developed for 2010, on January 1, 2010, organizations will be expected to have fully implemented the requirements related to health care-associated infections (which were established with the 2009 NPSGs). We will conclude the program with a panel of your colleagues from two Massachusetts hospitals discussing their very recent survey experiences.
