SUMMARY:Leveraging Current Infrastructure: Addressing the Opioid Epidemic at the State Level
DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT HAS CONCLUDED. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvery state in the United States faces a critical challenge with the opioid epidemic. Despite a 10% reduction in fatal overdoses in 2023\, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts remains focused on preventing future fatal overdoses. The current public health infrastructure offers unique opportunities for using impactful data to further this work. This webinar will explore how Massachusetts can use its existing health infrastructure to combat opioid misuse\, addiction\, and associated challenges effectively. \n\n\n\n\nKey Topics Include: \n\n\n\n\nAssessment of the Current Massachusetts Prescription Awareness Tool (MassPAT): Evaluate the efficacy and reach of this critical program in the commonwealth.\n\n\n\nThinking Beyond Prescription Data: Strategies to integrate additional available data sources to inform clinical decision making.\n\n\n\nUsing Data for Action: Harness data analytics and evidence-based practices to inform decision making and measure the effect of interventions.\n\n\n\nOther State Approaches: Learn how other leading states are using existing systems and data to prevent fatal overdoses.
