But the settlement terms are opaque and may represent\, for some hospitals\, just a fraction of valuable claims.  What should you do?  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn this webinar join Cy Smith and Bill Schultz\, who oversaw the parallel\, highly successful Blue Cross litigation on behalf of insurance subscribers. MACDC will lead a discussion on ways that hospitals can support the rollout of the Massachusetts Healthy Homes Program. These efforts aim to safeguard sensitive data from unauthorized access and ensure the confidentiality and security of individuals’ medical information. This webinar will examine the current reproductive health privacy landscape\, compare states’ varying approaches\, and highlight legal issues relevant to hospitals and other stakeholders.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nParticipants in this webinar will:\n\n\n\n1. Congress directed the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (now the Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy) to collaborate with federal agencies within U.S. Health & Human Services to create a trusted exchange framework\, including a common agreement among health information networks nationwide. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Qualified Health Information Networks in TEFCA work with covered entities\, business associates\, state agencies\, and others to facilitate secure data exchange for various use cases\, including treatment\, payment\, healthcare operations\, public health\, government benefits determinations\, and individual access services. The webinar will cover the structure of TEFCA\, its governance\, the “rules of the road\,” and highlight legal issues relevant to hospitals and other participants.
