Amy Smalarz, PhD, Senior Director of Healthcare Education & Professional Development
Amy Smalarz, PhD, MHA, is the Senior Director of Healthcare Education and Professional Development at MHA. She oversees the association’s continuing education programs, conference planning, and event implementation. Amy also leads the association’s expanding professional development initiatives. Amy has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare and public health sectors, specializing in health systems, policy, education, and leadership.
Before joining MHA, Amy served as the Bureau Chief of Healthcare Access, Equity, and Policy for the Department of Public Health Services (DPHS) in New Hampshire. She was also an Assistant Teaching Professor and Program Director for the undergraduate public health program at UMass Lowell, where she taught both undergraduate and graduate courses, including Healthcare Systems, Health Policy, and Leadership & Management.
Amy holds a BA from Brandeis University, an MHA from Simmons College, and a PhD from the Heller School at Brandeis University.
