Lauren Peters, Executive Vice President, MHA; President, Massachusetts Payer-Provider Partnership
Lauren Peters is Executive Vice President of the Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association (MHA), where she aligns the mission of more than 100 hospitals, health systems, and allied partners across the state. Her oversight includes the association’s policy and advocacy efforts, data and analytics, and clinical and innovation leadership.
Lauren launched the Massachusetts Payer-Provider Partnership (MP3) in 2026. MP3 is a first-of-its-kind platform bringing hospital and health plan members together to find common ground, advance shared solutions and innovations, and drive sustainable change in the healthcare system.
Lauren has been at the center of health policy in the commonwealth for more than a decade. She most recently served as Executive Director of the Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA), an independent state agency serving as a hub for Massachusetts’ healthcare data and analytics. CHIA’s work supports evidence-based policymaking and informs the commonwealth’s provision and purchase of healthcare services.
Prior to CHIA, Lauren served as Undersecretary at the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS), where she oversaw key programs and policy initiatives across multiple agencies, including the Department of Public Health and MassHealth, the state’s Medicaid program. During her time at EOHHS, she played a central role in the commonwealth’s COVID-19 response, led initiatives addressing homelessness and substance use disorders, and advanced long-term care, primary care, and behavioral health reform efforts.
Earlier in her career, Lauren served as Associate General Counsel and Director of Healthcare Finance and Policy at the Massachusetts Executive Office for Administration and Finance, advising on healthcare finance, policy, and legal matters. She also held prior roles at the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission and the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
Lauren earned her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, with a concentration in health and biomedical law, and holds a bachelor’s degree with honors from William Smith College.
