MEMBER MOMENTS: Hebrew SeniorLife’s Clinical Pastoral Education Program

Aside from providing excellent physical care, Hebrew SeniorLife is involved in the spiritual dimension of care. HSL’s Clinical Pastoral Education program offers specialized training in geriatric spiritual care for seminary students of diverse faiths, future clergy looking to develop spiritual care skills, and aspiring and current healthcare chaplains. Graduates of the program are equipped to support older adults and their families through the emotional and spiritual challenges of aging, loss, and end-of-life transitions.
Recently, the program celebrated its recent graduates (in photo), who have a wide range of post-graduation plans, including one who accepted a chaplain position at Boston Children’s Hospital, another who accepted a chaplain role at a continuing care retirement community outside of Boston, and two who are pursuing further chaplaincy education.
