Dr. Robert Roose, president of Mercy Medical Center in Springfield and Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford, Connecticut – both part of the Trinity Health of New England system – recently penned an op-ed in MassLive, discussing the challenges hospitals across the U.S. are facing, while sharing how his system is meeting the moment and creating services based on the needs of today’s patients.

Roose noted how the hospitals updated their electronic health record system to easily share patient records across the Trinity’s locations, making it easier for patients to access care.

“We are also committed to a strategic shift in care settings to satisfy the increased demand for outpatient services in convenient locations,” he wrote, noting the recent addition of the $50 million S. Prestley and Helen Blake Ambulatory Care Center.

“These new and improved outpatient services, coupled with our new electronic health record system and ample parking at our ambulatory care center in Enfield, make it easier than ever for patients to access the healthcare they need from our exceptional teams dedicated to service excellence,” Roose wrote.
